Under the supervision of the Head of the Centre, the intern will support the UNICRI Centre for AI and Robotics by contributing their technical expertise to ongoing projects.   Examples of duties to be performed by the intern may include:

  • Support the analysis of relevant research findings and the drafting of analytical reports.
  • Conduct mapping and analysis of AI governance initiatives and emerging developments in AI and criminal justice.
  • Participate in desk-based research, literature review and meta-analysis on issues pertaining to projects implemented by the Centre.
  • Support the organization of meetings and events, preparing agendas, taking notes and preparing follow-up documents.
  • Assist in drafting, preparing and reviewing project documentation, background notes, talking points, articles, presentations, etc.
  • Assist in communications and visibility related to the Centre’s activities.
  • Support the technical review of project activities and documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Applicants should note that this role will not involve any programming or software development.

 

Applicants are expected to work from the premises in The Hague, The Netherlands, as well as remotely.

Requisiti principali:
  • Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
  • (a) Be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); 
  • (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.

Applicants who meet the following requirements are preferred:

  • Have studied artificial intelligence, computer science, data science, or a related field.
  • Have demonstrated an interest in criminology, law enforcement, criminal justice, AI governance or AI ethics.
