The primary purpose of this internship is to support the Advocacy and Grants team with processes, procedures, and systems related to the implementation and monitoring of the grants program. It offers the selected individual valuable exposure to a dynamic, international humanitarian organization and an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in this field.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the updating and development of website content and materials.
- Support the development of online course materials, manuals, and templates.
- Support grants management tasks related to contracts, payments, and reporting.
- Prepare and finalize draft internal documents and reports on specific issues as requested by the supervisor.
- Support for e-filing: sort, organize, scan, and file documents.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager.
Duties applicable to all staff
- Actively work towards the achievement of the Federation Secretariat’s goals.
- Abide by and work in accordance with the Red Cross and Red Crescent principles.
- Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager.
Requisiti principali:
Education required
- Be currently-enrolled in a university or equivalent level, or have graduated recently (normally within 1 year from the date of hiring) in business, finance or related field.
- Professional certification in accounting.
Preferred
- Advanced degree in business, finance or related field.
Experience required
- Practical knowledge and experience in project management.
Preferred
- Experience working for the Red Cross/Red Crescent and famility with its systems and procedures; or an NGO with a focus on policy change or another humanitarian organisation.
Knowledge, Skills and Languages required
- Fluently spoken and written English.
- Skills in database management, web design, and visualization.
- Excellent organizational capabilities, written and verbal communications skills are essential, with the ability to craft an analytical narrative.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to synthesize, order, process and prioritize large amounts of information.
- Able to demonstrate interpersonal skills required to communicate with and work effectively with people from diverse cultures and ethnicities.
- Strong attention to detail.
Preferred
- Good command of another IFRC official language (French, Spanish or Arabic).
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with many stakeholders.
- Ability to take initiative to create new processes from scratch and act to fill identified gaps.
