Working as a member of the Programme Management Team and under the supervision of the Programme Management Officer, the Intern will provide support in various functions of the Unit ranging from analysing and researching conflict dynamics and trends in the peacebuilding field, fundraising and concept note/proposal development, donor reporting, communications, and event organization. The Intern will be exposed to all stages of peacebuilding programming (design, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, etc.). The position is a great opportunity for those with a strong interest in working in the NGO sector and particularly in peacebuilding programming. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Conducting research and analysing conflict dynamics and trends in the peacebuilding field, including the preparation of briefs and background papers.
- Supporting fundraising efforts by conducting research on potential sources of funding, donor strategies and country priorities, and drafting concept notes and project proposals.
- Drafting, editing and proofreading of substantive materials, including inputs for donor reports, annual reports, project updates, web stories, etc.
- Supporting the organization of events, workshops and meetings.
- Liaising with and supporting the work of other units of the organization as requested.
- Attending and following discussions, events and forums with particular relevance to Interpeace programming and communicating key outcomes and messages back to programme teams.
- Organizing and taking notes of team meetings.
- Providing logistical support for travel and missions of the Programme Management Unit to the field.
- Undertaking any other activities as requested by the supervisor.
Requisiti principali: - The internship is open only to students who are enrolled in a Master’s degree programme in Peace and Conflict Studies, Development Studies, International Relations or related field, and who would undertake the internship to either fulfil the Master’s degree curriculum requirements, or to complement their studies. The university/education institution must certify that the internship is relevant and contributes to the student’s learning. The student must be able to dedicate six months to a full-time internship with the university’s/education institution’s agreement.
- A strong desire to learn about peacebuilding while making a worthwhile contribution of time and effort to Interpeace.
- Fluent written and spoken English and French.
- Excellent writing and analytical skills; past experience in concept note/proposal development and/or project Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is a strong asset.
- Ability to think creatively and proactively solve problems.
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
- Excellent proven organization and communications skills.
- Good knowledge of common MS computer applications.
