The IFRC is looking for an intern that will support the Information Management team responsible for supporting work related to the GO platform. The key tasks of the intern will be:

  • Support the GO project team and network on matters including but not limited to information management practices related to data collection, collation, analysis and dissemination for programmes and operations;
  • Work closely with humanitarian analysts, data analysts and other team members to understand their data needs and suggest the necessary infrastructure and tools to support their analysis;
  • Implementing data validation, cleansing, and enrichment processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data;
  • Support data entry, processing and analysis of IFRC emergency operations data;
  • Monitor GO user permissions and provide quick feedback for any common issues;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to propose a feedback elicitation and guidance documentation repository system for GO;
  • Identify and track enhancements and needs for the GO platform and related final products, based on categorised feedback from users;
  • Prepare data visualisation and analysis products;
  • Support with organisation of internal and external meetings, trainings and events.
Requisiti principali:

 

Education required

  • Be currently-enrolled in a university or equivalent level, or have graduated recently (normally within 1 year from the date of hiring) in an area that is compatible with the IFRC activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, economy, statistics or a related field.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Complementary education on use of LLMs programmatically is highly desirable.

Experience required

  • Experience in managing database projects, including dataset creation, data entry, and data aggregation.
  • Strong experience in accessing, integrating, and working with APIs.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing platform feedback systems and performing feedback analysis.
  • Experience with Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.

Knowledge, Skills and Languages required

  • Fluently spoken and written English.

Preferred

  • Good command of another IFRC official language (French, Spanish or Arabic).
  • Proficiency in online mapping tools, data visualization platforms, and dashboard creation (e.g., Power BI).
  • Knowledge and understanding of disaster information management issues.
  • Knowledge of IFRC information management tools and IFRC data sources.
