Many fashion brands including Nike, Ralph Lauren, and H&M use SLCP to support their legal and policy obligations particularly in the context of human rights due diligence. As such, SLCP works extensively to ensure the data collection tool we develop is aligned with current policy expectations. Further, as SLCP scales, it is our vision that SLCP verified data is further recognized by policy makers as a solution for emerging legislation.
Your role would be to support the Policy Coordinator and the Senior Policy & Stakeholder Engagement Manager with implementing the policy strategy. Tasks will include:
- Policy mapping and analysis
- Mapping and analyzing policy developments with the SLCP CAF
- Support in developing strategies & action plans to shape SLCP’s response and advocacy to key policy developments
- Support technical efforts to align SLCP with legal expectations
- Critically analyze the CAF tool questions against legislative requirement
- Support engaging SLCP’s stakeholders
- Support SLCP positioning and advocacy
- Writing articles (reports, blogs, and/or case studies) to position SLCP as a source of credible data and useful for policy implementation
- Research opportunities to promote SLCP to policymakers and governments
- Event and stakeholder engagement support
- Preparing the SLCP internal news brief and support with the external policy newsletter
- Support the execution of SLCP’s policy events
- Administrative, logistical, and other support to the policy and stakeholder engagement team.
Requisiti principali: - Working towards a bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in relevant field (law, sustainability, human rights, political science) – recent graduates could also be considered
- Previous internship experience desired
- Highly motivated & passionate about improving human rights (labor conditions)
- Strong (English) written and verbal communication skills
- Energetic, flexible, and enthusiastic personality
- Strong knowledge of policy, particularly in the business & human rights (labor rights) field desired
- Eager to learn
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience working with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
