Attività:
Under the direct supervision of the Head of the City Resilience Global Programme (CRGP) and the supporting supervision of the project Coordinator, the intern will:
Front-End Development Requirements:
- Develop front-end features for data analysis, interactive maps, and visualizations, integrating GIS capabilities and geospatial data libraries.
- Support the methodological review of Web Map Viewer platform, focusing on UI/UX for intelligent models and emerging technology integration.
- Implement and maintain interactive web components for partner cities, ensuring seamless data collection and visualization.
- Convert and design content, including graphics and web layouts, for user-friendly presentations and reports.
- Develop engaging presentations and support workshop facilitation with intuitive digital tools.
- Perform additional front-end tasks aligned with Web Map Viewer Platform maintenance and enhancement needs.
- Undertake any other tasks for the Programme, which are in line with the experience of the intern.
Requisiti principali: - Applicants must at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:
- a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher),
- b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent),
- c) Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent.
- Preferred areas of study: Advanced university degree in Computer Science, Geospatial Technologies, Urban or Regional Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related field relevant to the development of the CRPiT tool.
- Strong foundation in front-end development, geospatial data visualization, and GIS tools, with proficiency in web mapping technologies (Leaflet.js, Maplibre, OpenLayers) and data visualization libraries (D3.js, Chart.js, Matplotlib, Seaborn). Knowledge of urban resilience, sustainability, and disaster risk reduction is desirable.
- Proficiency in Python or JavaScript for geospatial and data-driven applications is desirable.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite for UI/UX design and content development is a plus.
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship position, fluency in both oral and written English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.
