Under the direct supervision of the Chief of the CITES Outreach and Projects Unit, the intern will assist in the planning, researching, production, and release of communications and multimedia materials on a broad range of wildlife conservation and trade topics across various CITES channels. The activities will mainly have a dual focus on social media and graphics/image development and may include, among other related tasks:

  • Social media content drafting and design
  • Web and digital communications
  • Photo and video editing & production
  • Designing infographics and promotional materials
  • Support for the World Wildlife Day and CITES@50 campaign preparations.
Requisiti principali:
  • Academic background in communication, visual arts, environmental science, or other relevant areas (including social media, web development/management)
  • Knowledge and experience in desktop design is desirable;
  • Knowledge of standard software applications especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams and familiarity with Canva Pro, Adobe Suite or similar is desirable.
  • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:  
    • (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
    • (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) or
    • (c) Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
  • Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the programme.   
  • English, Spanish and French are the working languages of the CITES Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
