The internship position is located in the Office of the Chief, Human Resources Management Service (HRMS), Division for Management (DM), United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV)/United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The intern will contribute to various ongoing projects and initiatives depending on their background and the needs of the Office. Typical responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the UNOV/UNODC Internship Programme, including reviewing onboarding documents, preparing welcome materials, and coordinating with relevant teams.
  • Acting as a liaison between HRMS and internship supervisors to facilitate communication and ensure timely processing of agreements.
  • Assisting with the preparation and issuance of internship agreements and completion certificates.
  • Drafting and formatting internal communications, reports, and meeting summaries with clarity and professionalism.
  • Creating and maintaining tracking tools (e.g. Excel sheets) with various data and reporting on statistics.
  • Updating and maintaining the internal HRMS calendar.
  • Contributing to the preparation of HRMS monthly newsletter by drafting content, collecting inputs, and assisting with layout and formatting.
  • Preparing and sending regular email communications (e.g. reminders, updates, and announcements).
  • Performing other administrative tasks and providing general support to the team, as required.
Requisiti principali:
  • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
    • (a) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
    • (b) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. For this position, studies in the field of Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, Communications, Social Sciences, Humanities or other related degrees would be desirable.
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications; Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Teams;
  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
