Attività:
Under the supervision of the Environmental Affairs Officer, the intern is expected to contribute to the Environment Division through the work of the secretariat of the Convention on the Use and Protection on Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (Water Convention) and its Protocol on Water and Health (Protocol) as follows:
- Support the preparation and organization of meetings of the bodies under the Convention and the Protocol, such as:
- Joint meeting of the Working Group on Integrated Water Resources Management and Working Group on Monitoring and Assessment (Geneva, 13-15 October 2025);
- 7th session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Protocol on Water and Health (Budapest, 5-7 November 2025).
- Support the implementation of country projects and activities under the Water Convention and the Protocol on Water and Health, depending on needs, including possible support to:
- the globalization of the Water Convention;
- the work on SDG indicator 6.5.2 as required;
- the activities of the Transboundary Water Cooperation Coalition;
- other activities as required.
- Assist with the preparation of communication materials, including videos, visuals, articles and publications on the Water Convention and its Protocol on Water and Health.
- Provide general assistance to the secretariat with day-to-day tasks, as required (e.g. drafting of documents, updating the website, desk research on identified issues, correspondence with country experts and partners, project reporting, etc.).
Requisiti principali: - Applicants to the United Nations internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
- (a) Be enrolled or have completed a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- (b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
- For this internship, studies in environment, water management, development, international law, international relations or equivalent are required.
- Be computer literate in standard software applications;
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of any of French, Russian, Spanish or Arabic is an asset.
