Training and mentoring will be provided all along the internship. Carrying out his/her tasks under the supervision of the Economic Affairs Officer, the intern will perform the following functions:

• Assist in preparing communication materials for social media and other information outlets related to the implementation of the Division’s projects;
• Assist in preparing communication materials and a policy brief related to the publication of the National Capacity Gap Assessments;
• Assist in drafting publishable OpEds on the trade and development trajectory of LDCs, LLDCs and/or SIDs;
• Helping with the organization of the Ministerial meetings on LDCs, LLDCs and SIDs in the context of U16 (including drafting invitation letters, liaise with Geneva-based missions).

• Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
  • (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
  • (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
• Should be computer literate in standard software applications;
• No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required for this internship.
