This internship is located at Headquarters of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm (BRS) Convention in Geneva. The selected intern will work in the Public Awareness and Outreach Unit, in the Executive Office of the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions. Under the direct supervision of the Public Information Officer, of the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions, the intern will: 

• Research, ideate and develop social media products that are compelling, relevant and catchy in different formats, including videos, cards, infographics and interactive content to be used across all BRS digital channels in three languages.
• Support the creation of posts in English for BRS social media platforms, focusing on multimedia stories, campaigns and UN International Days;
• Provide assistance in researching, curating and presenting stories, images and videos on BRS’s digital platforms, including Trello boards.
• Assist in producing language versions of videos and graphics.
• Support the team in the production of regular analytics reports.
• Support the team to build a bank of quality images and video for BRS’s archive
• Assist in the work and coordination with influencers and partners.
• Support the team in the production of the BRS Highlights Newsletter.

• Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
  • (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
• Preferred area of study: business management, public administration, international law, including international environmental law, environmental management including chemicals and waste management.
• English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of Spanish, Arabic, Russian or of an additional official UN language is a desirable. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
