Under the supervision of the Senior Legal Officer of the Secretariat of the Assembly of States Parties, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
- Support the team by conducting legal research and analysis, contributing to the preparation of legal advice, studies, and documentation.
- Take notes during meetings and assist in the preparation of reports of meetings of the subsidiary bodies of the Assembly, i.e. summarize discussions, highlighting key points and various perspectives for further analysis.
- Assist in drafting and editing correspondence, letters, and notes, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately included and clearly presented.
- Provide support with various ad hoc tasks as requested, offering general assistance to the legal team as needed.
Requisiti principali: - All candidates must have a first level university degree from an accredited university in law, preferably with specialization in international or humanitarian law, or be in the final stages of their relevant studies. Candidates are expected to have a very good record of academic performance.
- Internship placements focus on candidates in the early stages of their professional careers; therefore, practical experience is not an essential prerequisite for selection. However, practical experience that is relevant to the work of the Court may be considered an asset. Applicants must have less than three years of relevant full-time professional experience to be considered for an internship.
- Able to adapt to multicultural and multilingual working environments.
- Possesses strong teamwork skills (listens, consults and communicates proactively).
- Very good oral communication and drafting skills.
- Has acquired a good standard of computer skills (including Microsoft Office applications) and research skills (including the use of electronic databases).
- Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, French or English, is required. Working knowledge of the other is desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) would be considered an asset.
