In general, the intern will support OCHA in coordinating with the OCHA Country Operations to collect accurate information on existing contracts and relevant extensions, lease agreement and MOUs for office space and Low Value Acquisitions (LVA). Enter data in Excel ensuring that information is updated, enrich data for contracts already uploaded in the system, follow up with Requesting Office to timely process renewal and/or amendments of contracts; review and consolidate information and draft memorandums and other relevant documentation; verifying reports and reconciliate data with regard to Asset Management; provide general office support services and perform tasks requested by the supervisor, as appropriate.
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. Applicants must be a student in a Bachelor's (final year), Master's for Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a degree and are able to comment an internship within a year of graduation.
Candidates for the UN Internship Programme are required to cover the cost of travel including visa, accommodation and other living expenses for the duration of the internship.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
