During the traineeship, the trainee will familiarise themselves with the work of the Budget, Finance and Planning Unit, which advises and supports Eurojust to achieve its mission, through comprehensive planning and legitimate expenditure of its financial resources. The main tasks and responsibilities may include:

  • Support the process of collecting and consolidating the Unit’s contributions toregular reviews, assessments and/or audit processes related to Eurojust’s budgetary and financial management processes;
  • Support the yearly monitoring and reporting process on the Unit’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and propose improvements for future years’ KPIs, in line with lessons learned from past years and new service needs/developments;
  • Contribute to effectively monitoring, assessing and communicating the quality and efficiency of the Unit’s services and other stakeholders’ satisfaction thereof;
  • Contribute to reviewing, revising and consolidating the Unit’s business process documentation, particularly concerning outdated procedures related to Eurojust’s budgetary and financial management processes; and
  • Support the preparation of proposals for revising and improving specific services and processes currently under the Unit’s responsibility.

Eligibility criteria

 

The traineeship call is open to applicants who satisfy the following eligibility criteria on the closing date for application:

  • Be a national of one of the Member States of the European Union or of EU candidate countries. Exceptionally, nationals of third countries with a cooperation agreement or working arrangement with Eurojust may also be accepted, depending on budget availability;
  • Be a recent university/masters/doctorate graduate, who, by the closing date for applications, has obtained a university/ masters/doctorate diploma;
  • Have a very good knowledge of English (minimum B2 level),the working language of Eurojust;
  • Not have received more than six weeks of any kind of in-service training/internship nor have worked or been employed in any capacity within a European Institution,body, office or agency.

General knowledge, qualifications and experience

  • Completed university degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Sector Management, Policy Analysis, or other relevant fileds;
  • Ability to take responsibility for specific areas of work and see actions through to completion, ensuring that the deadlines are met;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel and Word);
  • Aptitude for team work in an international, multicultural environment, as well as cooperative and customer-oriented attitude;
  • Excellent knowledge and command of English both written and spoken, the working language of Eurojust.
