Attività:
  • Collecting and analyzing data and information on key developments related to emerging situations;
  • Analyzing data to identify trends and gaps to inform response;
  • Researching, identifying, and testing tools and resources to support analysis of various data sources;
  • Developing procedures and guidance for the continued use of selected tools;
  • Identifying and evaluating terms, categories, and indicators;
  • Applying taxonomies to analysis of various data and content - e.g. social media, media, and information graphics, et cetera;
  • Generating information graphics to support decision makers in the understanding of complex, rapidly changing situations;
  • Participating in information management discussions and the design of sustainable visualization solutions including templates and icons;
  • Liaises with relevant in-house and external partners as necessary or requested by the Unit;
  • Identifies and communicates with potential partners on areas of shared interest;
  • Performs other tasks as requested by the respective supervisor, as appropriate.
Requisiti principali:
  • To qualify for the United Nations Secretariat internship programme, applicants must, at the time of application, be enrolled in a graduate school programme (i.e. Master’s degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (i.e. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree) in the area of social sciences, humanities, business or public administration, law or related field, OR have graduated with a university as defined above AND, if selected, must commence the internship within one-year period from the date of graduation;
  • Applicants should be computer literate in standard software applications;
  • Fluency in English or French, and knowledge of the other is required;
  • Knowledge of another United Nations official language - Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish - would be an advantage.
