Attività:
Carrying out his/her tasks under the supervision of the Economic Affairs Officer of the section, the intern will perform the following functions:
- Assisting in compiling information and data on issues relating to trade in commodities, including research on the interactions between commodities and economic diversification, and their implications for development.
- Assisting in quantitative and qualitative background research using statistical tools
- Preparing short drafts on specific issues as indicated by the supervisors, including creating charts and graphs.
- Provide substantive support to prepare relevant documents (e.g., presentations, letters, project documents and assessments) as required.
- Assist with proofreading and editing publications.
- Support other activities of the Section as required.
Requisiti principali:
- - Applicants to the programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
- (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
- (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
- Have a background in economics, preferably with knowledge of commodity markets.
- Be conversant with statistical software (e.g. Stata).
- Be computer literate in standard software applications.
- Experience in data processing and statistical analysis is desirable.
- Fluency oral and written in English is required for the internship. Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is desirable.
