Contribute to the Philips next generation wireless footswitch for interventional X-ray systems by prototyping a reliable wireless link, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary engineering group.
- Propose and prototype a wireless connection used in a medical environment for a battery-powered footswitch of an interventional X-ray system. This footswitch allows the physician to control the system from any position in the exam room. The improvement can include the selected wireless technology, the implementation of the selected technology (hardware and software), and/or redundancy.
- Depending on the candidate and the type of internship, (stretched) targets may include full characterization of the link quality of the existing and proposed solution, co-existence with other systems and other EMI sources, improved logging capabilities for failures, and failure mode effect analysis.
- Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary engineering team of the Electronic Systems & IoT department at Philips Innovation Engineering on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven.
- Apply your Electronics Engineering and Wireless Connectivity skills on a real product. Use your analytical, practical and experimentation skills to identify, realize and verify a solution, and use your documentation and communication skills to share results with the team and stakeholders.
