You´ll develop your internship in the commercial department working in close contact with the rest of the areas and gaining a global vision of how the company works, by providing support to the related department with their daily needs. Voxels (a kind of “pixel” with assigned “volume”) are frequently used in the visualization and analysis of scientific data. The aim of the internship is the deep analysis of voxel-based mass distributions in comparison to conventional produced mass shapes of different kinds (CAD geometry, simple shapes like cylinders or prisms or mesh-based representations), leading to a better understanding of dependencies between granularity and overall results for mass, center of gravity and inertias. This requires a close collaboration with our services department for digital mockups.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Information gathering (getting familiar with Voxels, analyse and assess different sources of voxel geometry).
• Calculate center of gravity, mass & inertia for Voxel representations, compare to conventional produced mass shapes and analyse the results.
• Voxel post processing and import/export for existing mass properties tool (e.g. weight data base).
• Documentation of results.

The Intern will join the Research Contracts Administration Section and assist in development and testing IT solutions for administration of project proposals and preparation of contracts and agreements, preparation and analysis of financial and other reports and queries, production of communication material for outreach purposes. 

Functions / Key Results Expected

• Assist in design, testing and documenting procedures of the new IT system for management of CRA project proposals and contracts.
• Assist in design of additional IT tools such as Sharepoint platforms, PowerBI Dashboards, and IT solutions for automation of document creation and operations.
• Assist in receipt, recording and filing project and contract agreement proposals as well as preparing agreement packages for Coordinated Research Activities (CRA) and Collaborating Centres (CC) mechanisms.
• Maintain database records.
  Perform data clean-up exercises.
• Prepare financial reports and ad-hoc management reports.
• Assist in maintenance of CRA and CC Web pages, gather other information required for general media and visibility use.
• Assist in daily operational tasks as assigned by the Section Head.

• Perform data entry, tracking, and validation across tools (Excel, Planning tools, Salesforce, backend systems, etc.), including regular data updates and quality checks
• Support preparation of presentations, reports, analyses, and maps
• Support the team in network planning activities in order to open sales and adapt our offer to transportation demand
• Take meeting notes, clean up content, and provide concise summaries
• Support the analysis of our network with various datasets and reports in order to continuously improve our service
• Prepare important documentation for the authorization of new bus lines
• Provide operational support throughout the annual timeline
