  • Pioneering Research: Drive innovation in quality assurance for metallic additive manufacturing. This internship provides a strong foundation and a direct pathway to a Master’s thesis in in-process monitoring.
  • Broad Engineering Exposure: Gaining hands-on experience in diverse engineering fields, including material testing, CT, ultrasound, fluorescent penetrant inspection, and additive manufacturing processes. Optimizing the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). Improving workflows around  state-of-the-art systems like Computer Tomography (CT), Ultrasonics, and Laser Excited Acoustics.
  • Performing Hardness Measurements and supporting tensile testing of additively manufactured specimens. Analysing and optimizing workflows within the NDT laboratory to improve efficiency and traceability. Designing and 3D-printing innovative toolings and inspection fixtures to enhance NDT testing efficiency.
  • Support ongoing research and laboratory activities.

As a Communications Intern, your daily tasks will involve creating and updating engaging content across various communication platforms, including written materials, videos, photos, and podcasts. You will work on projects such as updating course outlines and other external training promotional materials in line with IATA's branding guidelines, filming and editing videos, podcast management and supporting the maintenance of the iata.org/training website. You will also play a key role in enhancing IATA Training's visibility and engagement across social media channels.

You would support the research team in experimental tasks, develop the laboratory prototypes and infrastructure, and contribute with your skills to ABB’s advancements by reinforcing our team of scientists and engineers.

You will be mainly accountable for: 

  • Executing experimental tasks and laboratory tests within the research team
  • Performing subsequent data analysis of test results and comparison with simulation
  • Developing and assembling laboratory prototypes, including the creation and optimization of 3D-printed models.
