The selected intern will be involved in a variety of tasks, which may include:

• contributing to the development and implementation of the UN Library and Archives Geneva communications strategy, including assisting with preparation of drafts for social media, multimedia/podcast production and promoting engagement;
• contributing to the work of the UN Cultural Activities Committee and the implementation of cultural activities at UN Geneva
• assisting with planning and implementation of VIP visits to the UN Library and Archives Geneva, including background research, note-writing and follow-up;
• assisting in the general management and administration of the Library and Archives;
• other activities with the team depending on interest and opportunity.

Avec l’appui de nos équipes et de votre manager, vous participerez aux missions suivantes : 

• Participation à la production du Rapport Annuel Intégré du Groupe sur le volet Développement Durable
• Participation à la visibilité des engagements et résultats du Groupe en matière de Développement Durable et de la Fondation, à la fois en interne et en externe et à l’international
• Participation aux missions quotidiennes.

• Conduct research and analyze information on projects and partners;
• Support with the monitoring and updating project and procurement plans, coordinating the quarterly and monthly assurance tasks, as well as improving the project management compliance;
• Assist project implementation, preparing project management documents and communication materials;
• Provide routine oversight and analysis of projects’ financial and procurement data within the available dashboards, and internal monitoring tools available;
• Provide support in the preparation of narrative and financial reports;
• Support the daily communication with projects’ stakeholders and all parties involved;
• Assist in coordinating knowledge-sharing sessions, as required, to prepare learning materials, presentation slides etc.;
• Perform admin & secretarial duties by taking meeting minutes during project management meetings;
• Support the preparation of briefing materials ahead of meetings between UNOPS and partners; and
• Assisting in other activities as requested.

• Participate in functional testing of the eChecklist application and provide structured feedback.
• Support the creation and update of training materials (slides, demos, guides).
• Document business processes and contribute to global process mapping.
• Assist with global rollout activities (follow‑up, coordination, reporting).
• Maintain documentation libraries (Teams, Playbook, SharePoint, etc.).
• Support end‑users and gather feedback for improvements.
• Participate in preparation of governance and steering materials.

This internship focuses on applying Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and surrogate modeling to improve the robustness and efficiency of non-parametric structural optimization. The goal is to reduce computational costs and minimize trial-and-error by enabling intelligent parameter tuning for topology optimization workflows. Responsibilities:

• You will support research and development activities related to AI-assisted parameter tuning in sensitivity-based structural optimization workflows
• You will investigate and implement machine learning strategies for parameter tuning in topology optimization within generative design workflows
• You will create and curate representative training datasets covering different optimization scenarios, including stiffness-driven, strength-driven, and nonlinear designs
• You will define and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate optimization performance and machine learning model effectiveness
• You will explore and apply surrogate modeling techniques to approximate structural responses and improve computational efficiency
• You will collaborate with R&D engineers to prototype, implement, and validate algorithms using programming languages such as Python, Fortran, or C++.
