Ready to undertake an internship lasting 6 months, where you will be assigned to one of the following projects:
Project 1: Where you'll be joining our team of engineers engaged in improving the accuracy of wireless access point (AP) positioning systems; essential for many Wi-Fi 6/7 features.
- You will be enthusiastically researching and developing AI techniques to improve AP positioning accuracy through data analysis and machine learning approaches. This project involves algorithm development, model training, and validation of positioning improvements. A collaborated effort which will contribute to advancing indoor wireless positioning technologies for next-generation network deployments.
Project 2: Joining our team of ML engineers focused on transforming how organizations understand and act on vast, complex datasets collected from multiple systems and platforms.
- You will be enthusiastically researching and developing AI agents capable of analyzing large-scale, multi-source data and extracting meaningful insights through advanced analytics and machine learning techniques. This project involves designing intelligent analysis workflows, building trend-detection models, and creating clear, intuitive visualizations to support strategic business decisions. A collaborative effort that will contribute to shaping next-generation data-driven decision-making tools for modern enterprises.
The aim of this generic internship project announcement is to establish a list of successful candidates for various internship positions in the Departments of the Operations & Analysis Centre, Serious Organised Crime, European Migrant Smuggling Centre (EMSC), Financial Crime Unit, European Financial and Economic Centre Operations and the Operations Directorate Management Office within Europol Operations Directorate, focusing on one of the following areas of Europol (indicative list):
- Analysis Training Coordination Team within the Analysis & Strategic Coordination Unit;
- Special Tactics Team within the Operational Centre Unit;
- Property Crime Team within the EU Organised Crime Unit;
- Trafficking in Human Beings Team within the EMSC;
- Serious Fraud Team within the Economic Crime Unit;
- Environmental Crime Team within the EU Organised Crime Unit;
- Strategic Analysis Team within the Analysis & Strategic Coordination Unit;
- Stakeholder Management Team within the Financial Crime Unit;
- Counterfeiting Team within the Economic Crime Unit;
- Operations Directorate Management Office.
Depending on the project focus, the internship will entail some of the following tasks:
- Project support;

As a GIS/Imagery Analyst Trainee, you will play a crucial role in supporting our team with the development and maintenance of geospatial data and imagery products. Your work will contribute to the creation of highquality cartographic and analytical outputs, supporting a range of projects and operations within the
organisation. This will enable you to develop your professional skills in a real-world setting by performing a set of daily activities that may include some or all the following, depending on your profile:
- Production Support: assisting your team in the production of cartographic, GIS or IMINT products, especially during periods of high workload, ensuring a timely and accurate delivery.
- Database Management: generating, updating and maintaining comprehensive geospatial databases, and producing documentation to support data integrity and accessibility.
- Feature Extraction: digitising and extracting features from satellite images to update geospatial datasets.
- Geospatial Analysis: performing advanced geospatial analyses, including raster and vector data manipulation and processing, to support the creation of SatCen products using diverse data sources.
- Automation Implementation: contributing to the development and implementation of automation rules within the ESRI environment, enhancing efficiency and workflow automation.
- Web Mapping Services: assisting in the creation and deployment of ESRI portal-based webmapping services and applications, expanding the accessibility and usability of geospatial information.
- Project Assistance: collaborating with Team Leaders and Imagery Analysts in executing various projects and division activities, providing essential support and insights.
The selected candidate will work in the Programme Resources and Oversight Unit (PROU), in the Executive Office, and will provide administrative support and perform the following tasks: • Provide administrative assistance to the unit, including supporting the Programme Oversight Group (POG) monthly meetings, writing the meeting minutes and, circulate the minutes to the group for review, consolidation of comments and final clearance. • Send reminders and ad-hoc communications to the POG and Programme Officers about reporting deadlines, and other inputs collections. Support in updating overview tables of funding needs, and others (e.g. the expenditure of funds) that rely on submissions from branches. • Update the BRS Dashboard to support the oversight function of the unit. Record and track new contributions in the SharePoint dashboard and ensure accuracy of data and documentation. • Provide ad hoc support on the redaction of drafts of financial and legal agreements (e.g. Donor Agreements, Exchange of Letters) in close co-operation with the Unit Head and the Programme Officer. • Provide support to the PROU team in preparation for and during the Fifteenth meeting of the Basel Convention Open-ended Working Group, to be held in Geneva 23-26 June 2026. • Assist in the development of project proposals, grant applications, and funding requests to donors. This may involve gathering and organizing data, drafting sections of the proposals, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. • Contribute to coordination tasks with other branches of the Secretariat, including collecting inputs, maintaining document repositories, and supporting internal communication workflows. • Assist in preparing briefing notes, background materials, and simple data summaries as needed to support oversight and resource mobilization activities. • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit.
- Coordinate product/marketing approvals for both countries with EU creative teams.
- Support the teams and the licensees with contract compilation/upload.
- Assist / guide the licensees in the product / manufacturing compliance path according to Mattel / EU principles.
- Market analysis (seasonal occasions, market needs analysis, market research).
- Support Forecast and Royalties report collection.
- Marketing & PR activities support, from briefing to execution and analysis.
- Creation and coordination of digital and print advertising materials and industry summit materials.
