This internship focuses on supporting the low and medium voltage switching research team in experimental and simulation tasks. The internship tasks will include:
- Construction of experimental setups
- Participating in designing and in simulating novel concepts for low and medium voltage switchgear
- Executing experimental tasks within the ABB research team
- Evaluating experimental results and performing data analysis.
Under the supervision of the Chief of Member Services, the intern will support the Member Services Unit in strengthening engagement with GEO's 116 Member governments, to improve Member participation, ownership, policy advocacy and financial commitments to GEO.
- Maintain and update contact information for GEO Members, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records of GEO Principals, Alternates, Focal Points, and other key contacts in the contact management system, with an initial review completed by April 2026.
- Conduct a quantitative assessment of Member engagement based on participation in GEO governance bodies and key events in 2025-2026; prepare and submit a report by October 2026.
- Research, draft, and update GEO Member profiles, with at least 20 profiles developed or revised by December 2026.
- Improve Member-facing content on the GEO website, ensuring information is accurate, current, and user-friendly; assist with generating content for the bi-monthly Member newsletter (e.g. blog posts).
- Support Member engagement activities led by the Chief of Member Services and the Member Services Associate, including preparing background materials, organizing meetings, taking notes, and tracking follow-up actions.
- Provide general administrative and research support to the Member Services Unit as required.
Contribute to the Philips next generation wireless footswitch for interventional X-ray systems by prototyping a reliable wireless link, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary engineering group.
- Propose and prototype a wireless connection used in a medical environment for a battery-powered footswitch of an interventional X-ray system. This footswitch allows the physician to control the system from any position in the exam room. The improvement can include the selected wireless technology, the implementation of the selected technology (hardware and software), and/or redundancy.
- Depending on the candidate and the type of internship, (stretched) targets may include full characterization of the link quality of the existing and proposed solution, co-existence with other systems and other EMI sources, improved logging capabilities for failures, and failure mode effect analysis.
- Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary engineering team of the Electronic Systems & IoT department at Philips Innovation Engineering on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven.
- Apply your Electronics Engineering and Wireless Connectivity skills on a real product. Use your analytical, practical and experimentation skills to identify, realize and verify a solution, and use your documentation and communication skills to share results with the team and stakeholders.
As a trainee in the internal audit team, you will be in constant interaction with the management of the different activities, the Middle Office and the Risk and Compliance teams.
Your main tasks will be:
- Participating in planning meetings and summarising meeting notes,
- Performing audit tests,
- You will also be responsible for the development and implementation of a new business model for the company,
- Helping to draft audit reports and PowerPoint presentations of the progress of the work to the group's management.
