The Research, Technology Development and Innovation (RTDI) Unit is responsible for designing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance SatCen’s capabilities across the Earth Observation (EO) data value chain, including through participation in Research and Innovation (R&I) projects under the Horizon
Europe and European Defence Fund (EDF) programmes. One of the Unit’s key achievements is the Geospatial Data Management Platform (GEO-DAMP) — a
web-based platform that enables SatCen to operationalize and sustain R&I results. GEO-DAMP provides users with seamless access to EO and other data sources, allows them to launch processing applications, and supports the visualization of outputs.

The trainee will contribute to the enhancement of GEO-DAMP’s capabilities from a software development perspective, while also supporting the technical execution of selected Horizon Europe, EDF and other cooperative projects related to EO, Space and Security.
