• Support the work of the quality team and the EHS team within the Production Section;
  • contribute to an environmental impact assessment of euro banknotes using the Product Environmental Footprint methodology developed by the European Commission;
  • help look into ways of reducing the environmental impact of waste disposal in the cash cycle and help devise strategies to encourage environmentally friendly waste disposal;
  • process and present EHS data provided by the accredited manufacturers and engage with stakeholders on EHS topics;
  • contribute to the continuous development of banknote production quality control requirements;
  • support the development and implementation of testing procedures for specific banknote parameters and the assessment of the performance of quality control tools used in banknote production;
  • contribute to improving data quality monitoring in banknote production, including statistical analysis of data on production process capabilities, to propose optimised banknote production specifications;
  • participate in other ad hoc activities related to banknote production.
 
  • Support the expansion of global community-of-practice and outreach, specifically the day-to-day management of the Global Dialogue on Environment and Energy, which includes: a) Developing and disseminating the monthly newsletter. b) Facilitating engagement and discussions on the LinkedIn group. c) Testing other means of expanding the global community of practice. d) Building up and maintaining contacts lists. e) Responding to queries and maintaining the communications email inbox.
  • Support towards delivery of webinars and online/hybrid trainings focused on specific topics related to environmental governance and management in the energy sector and assist the data collection and reporting for these events.
  • Undertake desk-based research and develop/update country background papers on energy transition as well as social and environmental safeguards in renewable energy development.
  • Support partnership building on sustainable energy transition, including liaising with industry partners, academia, and civil society.
  • Support training and workshop report writing
  • Provide support to logistics preparations for delivery of trainings and other planned events.
  • Any other tasks as requested by the Programme Manager.

We are looking for a motivated trainee to join our Mechanical Project Engineering team, with a focus on Utilities & Energy. As part of the 24-month program, which includes multiple training phases, you will participate in international and diverse projects with cross-functional assignments.
This role offers hands-on experience from day one, supporting global investment projects involving new installations and refurbishments across our production sites. On-site, you’ll oversee construction and vendor coordination, help manage timelines, budgets as well as quality. As part of the trainee responsibilities coordination of meetings, documentation management and support in equipment or procurement decisions are central tasks. Monitoring project progress, escalating risks and collaborating with departments ensures alignment across all phases of the project lifecycle. 

During the 24-month program, you will receive intensive on-the-job training complemented by coaching from experienced specialists. Guided by a dedicated mentor, you will continuously build solid engineering expertise in the field of food industry and production. This experience will help you establish a strong international network. 

Upon successful completion of the program, a permanent position is planned.

 

The main purpose of this internship is to assist the GloWAL Network Liaison Officer with implementation of the GloWAL Network and serve as a liaison between the GloWAL Network and the TC programme.

Functions:

  • Assist the GloWAL Network Liaison Officer with evaluation of applications to join the GloWAL Network
  • Prepare outreach materials that promote the GloWAL Network and its activities to Member States
  • Assist with the maintenance of the GloWAL Network website for water electrolysis.
