The main purpose of the intern will be to gain experience in the Occupational Radiation Protection System and receive the knowledge necessary to work in an international environment dealing with the needs of the Latin America and Caribbean and European region and supporting the work of the Radiation Safety and Monitoring Programme Officer.
The intern will be trained in the more relevant IAEA Safety Standards and Reports related to the radiation protection of the workers and their implementation in different MS. The intern will acquire experience in IAEA tools used for supporting radiological safety of the workers, as the Radiation Safety Information Management System (RASIMS).
The intern will a support the work of the RSM Section in helping implementation of different project activities under TC Programme in radiation protection for the workers in the Latin-American and the Caribbean and European region.

Functions / Key Results Expected:

  • Acquire experience in the use of IAEA tools used for the radiological safety of the workers.
  • Receive training in the more relevant IAEA Safety Standards and Reports for the radiation protection of the workers.
  • Support the Radiation Safety and Monitoring Section in the review of technical documents and in assessing the needs in Latin-American and the Caribbean region and European region.
  • Acquire experience in working within a multidisciplinary team in an international environment.
Requisiti principali:
  • University degree in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • Ability to comprehend technical content such as radiation protection an asset
  • Training in Radiation Protection, Medical Physics or Health Physics is an asset
  • Experience with the Office Suite. Additional experience with Google Analytics is an asset.
  • Knowledge of information and IT security.
  • Ability to comprehend radiation protection content an asset.
  • Experience in working with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.

 

  • Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree.
  • Candidates may apply up to one year after the completion of a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree.
  • Good written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish or Russian) an asset.
