In UNHCR, the CCCM Cluster Section operates within the Division of Resilience and Solutions (DRS). The role of the Cluster is twofold: to coordinate humanitarian actors concerning all services provided to displaced populations within any communal settings (i.e. camps, informal settlements, collective centres) and to work with the affected population to ensure representation, on-site governance and access to information about services provided.

  • Collating comments and feedback on assigned documents received from internal and external stakeholders;
  • Undertaking primary analysis and research, collate available information on a range of topics relevant to Global CCCM Cluster;
  • Supporting CCCM Cluster in following up, analysing, and reporting;
  • Assisting Global CCCM Cluster in supporting country clusters with guidance on challenges;
  • Assisting in the preparation and coordination of meetings;
  • Attending briefings and meetings and taking notes as requested;
  • Assisting the Global CCCM Cluster with data management and the information flow to/from operations;
  • Supporting design of CCCM material, including text editing and using software such as Photoshop, Canva and InDesign, and assist in dissemination;
  • Supporting compilation of secondary data related to CCCM, draft reports and communication/advocacy documents;
  • Performing other duties as may be assigned.

The intern works as a full member of the HR Administration team, handling assignments that are designed to make a significant impact on the work of the Unit, and has opportunities to learn about the field of human resources and the United Nations overall. The internship will focus on the following areas:

  • Maintains HR-related automated systems and applications including automated databases containing HR related information by sorting, classifying and uploading onto the OCHA HR filing system relevant documents.
  • Maintains HR-related files/records (electronic and paper) and assists the HR Officer by conducting initial review to ensure accuracy of the files/records.
  • Conducts periodic follow-ups directly with staff members to ensure complete documents submission (electronic and paper) related to applications for UN travel documents or other HR-related documents staff will submit to the HR Administration Team.
  • Provides general support services; processes, drafts, edits, proofreads and finalizes for signature/approval a variety of correspondence and other communications.
  • Schedules appointments/meetings and monitors deadlines.
  • Initiating and carrying out other assigned tasks/special projects.

 

UNICEF is implementing its 2021-2025 Country Programme Document (CPD) that has a key result area and outputs on “Adolescents”, supporting their development, participation, and engagement. UNICEF ADAP Intern will work on participation and engagement for adolescents and young people to develop their creativity, and participation and help them design solutions addressing challenges that they and their communities face. Together with partners, the intern will support young people to develop ideas and solutions to respond to modern-day challenges in their communities and increase their awareness regarding climate change.

The position will support skill development programmes. ADAP Intern will assist in following up the processes of skills development activities and will also support the organization of activities in line with changing needs in the field. This will support the personal empowerment of adolescents and young people.

The ADAP Intern will join sector meetings and focus on Southeast Youth Task Team members to learn good practices and mapping of the youth programmes. The position will assist in the arrangements of the task team meetings.

UNICEF ADAP Intern will get to present ideas and outputs and receive mentoring and career advice from the ADAP unit and other programme team members. The position will work with and for adolescents and have the opportunity to involve different areas for the work.

 

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Technical Specialist - Environmental, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting capacity building activities under ICAT, in particular training activities and the development of the ICAT toolbox. The incumbent may also be asked to conduct background research related to different aspects of ICAT’s work and activities, and support the development of outreach material and events.

  1. Capacity Building and Training Support:
  • Support the planning and programme management of capacity building activities, particularly training (both online and in-person).
  • Assist in the logistics and administration tasks for online and in-person training events, including communication with participants.
  • Assist in the review of training content and development of facilitation plans, including liaising with training partners, subject matter experts and service providers.
  • Assist in the organization of presentations and other communication material.
  1. Toolbox Support:
  • Support the coordination of activities and tracking of deliverables under the ICAT toolbox, including liaising with relevant partners and institutions.
  • Assist in the preparation of terms of reference for new tools and guides, including conducting research on technical topics related to climate change.
  • Support ICAT MELU focal points on evaluations.
  • Support the organization and delivery of outreach events and activities such as webinars including assisting in the preparation of outreach and communication material.
  1. Research support:
  • Assist with background research on aspects related to the work of ICAT. Assistance will also be required for research on specific topics related to the countries covered by ICAT, with a focus on their GHG emissions and climate policies and actions in a global, regional and national perspective, in particular, nationally determined contributions and biennial transparency reports;
  • Perform other duties as required based on ICAT Secretariat’s needs.
  • Capture the essence of UNODC’s work through evocative and sensitively shot photographs.
  • Assist with photography coverage of events and conferences, drafting description texts while ensuring adherence to UNODC’s photography and branding guidelines.
  • Independently edit and retouch photo(s) under the guidance of Advocacy Section team and according to the technical specifications available.
  • Support with the maintenance of UNODC photo-audio-visual library, independent selection, uploading and indexing of any photos taken in the framework of UNODC's mandates, ensuring that naming of folders and subfolders is correct and follows the predefined standards, and assist in migrating photos from the archive to the library.

 

Hiring office functional mandate: Enhancing participation and protecting civic space is one of the key pillars and shifts of the OHCHR's Management Plan.  The Civic Space Unit's focuses on 5 priority areas:   

  1. Support regional and in-country initiatives to protect Human Rights Defenders (HRDs)
  2. Support strategic field engagement on civic space
  3. Monitoring of civic space and the situation of HRDs
  4. Mainstreaming civic space and protection in UN system
  5. Building public support for civic space and HRDs.

OHCHR has a unique role to play to take on this global challenge through a new multi-dimensional initiative to:  

  • strengthen good protection practices, including protection networks;
  • raise the visibility and increase support for the work of defenders and influence the narrative;
  • monitor civic space trends and situation of HRDs;
  • and mainstream civic space in the wider UN policies, practices and operational activities.

OHCHR will also pursue its efforts to lead the UN system-wide efforts to mitigate reprisals against those who cooperated, cooperates or seeks to cooperate with the UN system on human rights.

You will be responsible to develop a chatbot to support internal and external customers in finding needed information easily. For this you will connect with colleagues that already have some chatbot development and data science experience within Toyota and will proceed on your own to build the chatbot.
  • Periodic vehicle maintenance is an essential activity ensuring reliable operation of a vehicle on the long term. Thanks to connected vehicle data relevant parameters can be used to ensure proper maintenance is performed. You will study a concept to enable 12V battery maintenance traceability using vehicle connected data and other available data sources. This can then be used for further qualitative analysis by engineers globally. You will be the leader for this project while you discuss with colleagues to gather insights and guidance.
  • Overall, you will be part of a team of data enthusiasts, and you will be asked to support development of existing automation / visualisation projects.

In this role you will be part of a team called ZEISS Solutions Lab. You will build customized automation solutions for ZEISS customers that need support for special light microscopy applications. Typically, these solutions encompass a completely automated LM workflow from image acquisition to the image analysis. Applications usually come from quality labs in the pharma, manufacturing or electronics industry, although, use cases may arise from any business area. Together with our data scientists you will implement full HW automation and computer vision pipelines ranging from microscope control to the preprocessing of images to the detecting and segmenting of objects and the final statistical analysis. You will have the possibility to improve your knowledge in many areas, such as the application of deep learning models and image processing algorithms or in advanced software engineering topics.
