The Intern will have the opportunity to learn and support the overall work of the Sector’s mission. Activities will vary depending on the requirements of the assignment. Specific Terms of Reference and learning objectives will form part of the contract. The work entrusted to interns falls under one or more of the following categories as per the requirements/needs of each team.

 

Programme and Project Support:

  • Participate in the preparation and review project documents. Draft notes and prepare technical annexes.
  • Prepare conceptual framework / concept notes on new areas of work or development challenges.
  • Collect, organize and analyze data.
  • Contribute to the production/preparation of documents, working papers, and conceptual framework/concept notes on area of work or development challenges.
  • Assist in the development of technical support in the development of new interventions or projects.

Research and Knowledge Management:

  • Undertake specific research and reviews to produce well defined aspects or segments of work products, including publications, documents and project proposals.
  • Contribute to the preparation of knowledge and communication products, materials for advocacy and outreach, related to area of work.
  • Participate in meetings and seminars.

Partnerships:

  • Analyze and compile background data for potential partnerships and fundraising events and opportunities. Arrange briefings, visits, tours, meetings and other related activities to support collaborative activities.
  • Liaise and build networks with officials in national administrations, researchers, other international organisations and member country Delegations.

Operations Support:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support in the planning and organization of meetings, events, workshops, and conferences in coordination with other staff.
  • Support the preparation of specific budgets, financial and accounting documents, and project documentation and evaluation.
  • Dive into cutting-edge research on land degradation, climate change, and sustainability, contributing to real-world solutions.
  • Support the Business 4 Land initiative, exploring how businesses can drive land restoration through innovative strategies, sustainability practices, and impactful partnerships.
  • Contribute to the Resource Mobilization Strategy, identifying exciting funding opportunities and researching groundbreaking financial mechanisms to scale up land restoration efforts, and mainstream UNCCD’s goals into existing financial schemes.
  • Play a key role in preparing dynamic reports, presentations, and policy briefs that influence decision-makers worldwide.
  • Help organize high-level events, meetings, and conferences, gaining firsthand experience in international collaboration.
  • Get creative with outreach and communication efforts—craft engaging articles and social media content that spread awareness on land sustainability.
  • Gain organizational and logistical skills by supporting administrative tasks essential for program success.

 

You will be part of a dynamic team of professionals working for international clients. By cooperating closely with software designers, developers, testers and other specialists you will be able to develop your technical software testing skills and build a better working world.

Au fil des projets et au sein de l’équipe, il vous sera confié les tâches suivantes :

  • Recueil et analyse des données nécessaires à l’étude
  • Analyse de donnée hydrométéorologiques 
  • Construction et calage d’un modèle hydrologique
  • Conception et mise en œuvre de modèles hydrauliques 1D/2D (MIKE+)
  • Conception et mise en place de système d’alerte et de prévision
  • Production et analyse des résultats issus de simulations numériques (analyse d’hydrogrammes, analyse coût-bénéfice, rendus cartographiques, croisements SIG, etc.).

 

You will join our engineering department and work on tasks that contribute to client projects and/or sales-related activities. Your tasks may involve simulation and emulation of production process flows (digital twins), designing mechanical, electrical, and safety solutions, or programming robots using Visual Components software, ABB RobotStudio, and OmniCore Controllers.

Your responsibilities:

  • Simulation and emulation of flow through production processes (Digital twin)
  • Active participation in mechanical, electrical and safety design in collaboration with colleagues and contractors
  • Programming of robots.
