- Carry out and prepare summaries of research.
- Contribute to the preparation of documents, including substantive and communication materials.
- Collect, analyze and present data.
- Assist in organizing and communicating about events.
- Participate in meetings and workshops, with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the technical work of the team/Unit/Sector.
- Liaise with colleagues in other entities of the United Nations System.

In this framework, we are looking for candidates to join the Culture Sector as interns to work under the overall authority of the Assistant Director-General for Culture (ADG/CLT), and the general supervision of the Director/Chief of Entity, and the direct supervision of the Head of Unit/Programme Specialist to contribute to the work of the Unit/Entity, in particular to:
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of Culture programmes and activities.
- Contribute to the preparation of documents, reports, work plans and communication content including briefings, talking points, speeches and online content for the Sector.
- Assist in conducting research, compiling data and carrying out analysis, drafting and preparing materials pertaining to the implementation of the UNESCO Culture Conventions.
- Participate and assist with upcoming meetings, training workshops, events, webinars and conferences organized by the Sector, taking notes and preparing minutes.
- Assist in building and maintaining working relationships with other Sectors/Entities, donors/partners, relevant national and international organizations, etc.
- Contribute to any additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Unit/Entity within the Culture Sector.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) is a security conscious organisation, and its security environment is influenced by a wide range of factors.
Employees (and other people who work and/or engage with the Court) have access to ICC buildings and a variety of sensitive material such as information, assets and resources that are at risk from a range of threats, and one of the mechanisms available to protect the Court is vetting.
Using vetting, the Court is able to obtain a level of assurance that its staff (and other people who work and/or engage with it) have integrity and are free from any conflict of interest, or vulnerability that could threaten or compromise its work, or the safety and security of its staff or any other persons under its care.
The Personnel Security and Investigations Office is looking for an Intern to assist in the day to day running of the office and its core business. The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Assisting with the core administrative tasks associated with vetting
- Completing open-source research/analysis/investigations
- Assisting with the risk assessment processes associated with vetting
- Communication with candidates and external agents as required.
- In addition, the incumbent will assist the Personnel Security Officer with developing new strategies aimed at improving efficiencies in the vetting process or other project work as required.
Under the overall authority of the Director of the Governing Bodies Secretariat and the direct supervision of the Deputy Secretary of the Executive Board, the intern will contribute to the work of the team including selected tasks from the following:
Reports, Research & Briefings:
- Assist to working meetings and contribute to the reporting and briefings relating thereto
- Provide support to the team for the elaboration of certain reports of UNESCO information meetings
- Carry out relevant research and draft analytical or summary notes on subjects relevant for GBS
- Follow international news and inform the supervisor of any important developments.
Preparation of the sessions of the executive board and the general conference:
- Provide assistance with the design and then the follow-up to the forthcoming sessions (debriefings, documents, decisions, Summary Records)
- Participate in the archiving and classification of statutory documents.
Logistics:
- Participate in the preparations for the forthcoming sessions of the Executive Board and the General Conference from a logistical, organizational, informative, functional and conceptual point of view, in order to take part in the smooth running of the session.
Other tasks:
- Contribute to other tasks to support the general conduct and smooth running of the meetings of the Secretariat of Governing Bodies (Executive Board, General Conference, Preparatory Group, working groups, informal meetings, etc.).
