We are looking for motivated interns to join the Innovation and Analytics Hub (the Hub) at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva. OHCHR offers internship opportunities in the following workstreams:

 

Workstream 1: Strategic Coordination and Planning

  • Assist in the and coordination of strategic planning meetings, communications and outreach activities, training workshops, webinars, round-tables etc., including by drafting relevant materials. • Support the tracking and analysis of strategic initiatives and their implementation. • Support the establishment of an Office-wide Community of Practice on data and analytics, digital transformation, innovation and behavioral science.

Workstream 2: Digital Technology, Data and Innovation

  • Contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of digital transformation projects. • Assist in the development and deployment of data analytics tools and platforms. • Support the integration of innovative technologies into existing workflows. • Provide technical support and training for digital tools and platforms.

Workstream 3: Risk Analysis and Early Warning

  •  Monitor and analyze emerging human rights risks and protracted crisis situations • Contribute to the development of human rights risk assessments and early warning reports. • Assist in the coordination of human rights risk analysis activities • Support the preparation of briefings and presentations on risk analysis, including for UN prevention processes.

Workstream 4: Global Analytics and Field Support

  • Contribute to the collection, analysis, and visualization of data from field offices. • Assist in the development of analytics reports and dashboards for decision-making. • Support the dissemination of innovative tools and best practices to field offices. • Provide technical assistance and training to field offices on data analytics and reporting.

 

Media and Social Media Monitoring

  • Monitor media and format the Monthly Review, featuring news articles relevant to developments and country programmes, as well as media coverage of the TFV’s activities and events.
  • Conduct research on media trends related to international justice and victim rights, providing insights to the communications team.
  • Monitor social media platforms for relevant discussions, trends, and engagement metrics.
  • Support new website/social media projects by assisting in the design of infographics and visuals.
  • Assist with photography projects, including organizing archive, inserting metadata, compiling selected photos for specific themes and projects, and securing permission to use external photographs.
  • Help upload an archive of videos onto our server and insert metadata into photographs.
  • Contribute to the creation of engaging content for social media posts that align with the TFV's messaging and objectives.

General Assistance

  • Help maintain the TFV media mailing list and assist in mapping media sources and developing targeted communication strategies for various audiences.
  • Assist journalists at the Court’s Information Desk during key engagements, providing them with badges to access the media centre and other practical information.
  • Escort visitors and arrange meetings when necessary.
  • Take notes at specific meetings and prepare summaries for internal distribution.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving communication strategies and outreach efforts.

 

  • Research and preparation of background reports;
  • Drafting memoranda, reports, letters, briefing notes, speeches and other correspondence;
  • Support for the preparation of internal and external meetings and ensure an accurate recording of meetings;
  • Assisting in the preparation of presentations for internal and external audiences;
  • Other tasks as may be required by the Section Chief.

 

The International Criminal Court (ICC) investigates and, where warranted, tries individual charges with the gravest crimes of concerns to the international community: genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes of aggression. The Court is participating in the global fight to end impunity, and through international criminal justice, the Court aims to hold those responsible accountable for their crimes and to help prevent the crimes from happening again. You can contribute to this cause by joining the ICC.

External Legal Teams represent defendants or victims before the Court. They are composed of one or more persons admitted to the List of Counsel and any persons assisting them (legal assistants, case managers, etc.). They perform their duties independently.

Under the supervision of counsel, selected candidates may perform one or more of the following tasks:

  • Research and preparation of background reports.
  • Drafting memoranda, reports, letters, briefing notes and other correspondence.
  • Other tasks as may be required by counsel.
