The primary purpose of this internship is to support the Advocacy and Grants team with processes, procedures, and systems related to the implementation and monitoring of the grants program. It offers the selected individual valuable exposure to a dynamic, international humanitarian organization and an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in this field.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the updating and development of website content and materials.

Press Relations:
- Assist in the creation of press releases and press kits, including storytelling ideation, coordinating with agencies to format materials into press kits, drafting press releases, and developing additional supporting creative assets.

- Coordinate with agency partners on local communication initiatives, media plans, strategic announcements, and other media-related topics.

Internship title: Integration of the Retrieval-Augmented Generation process in a Large Language Model for Sentinel-3 operational documentation. EUMETSAT is exploring the possibility to use Large Language Models (LLMs) integrated with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to assist and enhance the capabilities to look up, query the operational and technical documentation baseline via the creation of an AI “virtual assistant” for the spacecraft operations team.
The intern will first develop an understanding of the team’s needs to balance efficient search and retrieval of large documentation sets with the need to keep EUMETSAT’s data private and protected, and how these needs can be met. They will also learn how to manipulate the documentation in a format which can be used by the RAG technology.
Finally, the intern will support the development of a virtual assistant by building on the work done by the EUMETSAT EDGA project and create a draft of document writing guidelines applicable to future missions to ensure documentation sets are AI-readable.
Under the supervision of the Head of the Centre, the intern will support the UNICRI Centre for AI and Robotics by contributing their technical expertise to ongoing projects. Examples of duties to be performed by the intern may include:
- Support the analysis of relevant research findings and the drafting of analytical reports.
- Conduct mapping and analysis of AI governance initiatives and emerging developments in AI and criminal justice.
- Participate in desk-based research, literature review and meta-analysis on issues pertaining to projects implemented by the Centre.
- Support the organization of meetings and events, preparing agendas, taking notes and preparing follow-up documents.
